1 What data we collect

When you create an account and use Cleo, we collect:

• Email address — used to create and manage your account
• Username and display name — chosen by you, shown on leaderboards
• Country — chosen by you, shown on your profile
• Profile picture — chosen by you from our in-app selection
• Quiz progress and scores — to track your learning and display leaderboards
• Device identifiers — used by our advertising partner (Google AdMob) to serve ads

2 How we use your data

We use your data to:

• Create and manage your account
• Save your quiz progress and scores
• Display leaderboards
• Send account-related emails (e.g. password reset)
• Show advertisements through Google AdMob

3 Advertising

Cleo is free to download and includes a generous daily ad-free allowance — 3 modules and 3 quizzes per day with no ads. Ads are only shown once your daily free quota has been used. Cleo uses Google AdMob to display these ads. AdMob may collect and use your device's advertising identifier to serve personalised ads. On iOS, you will be asked for permission before any advertising tracking takes place.

You can opt out of personalised ads at any time through your device settings:

• iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
• Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID

4 Data storage

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase, which is based in the United States. By using Cleo you consent to your data being transferred to and stored in the US. Firebase is compliant with GDPR under Standard Contractual Clauses.

5 Your rights (GDPR)

As a UK resident or EU user you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you
• Correct any inaccurate data
• Delete your account and associated data
• Object to how we use your data

6 Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be deleted within 30 days.

7 Children

Cleo is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

8 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or by email.
